For the second year in a row,
Aveda Institute Columbus has volunteered to raise
donations during March and April for the Ohio Sierra
Club’s Central Ohio Water Quality Campaign. Aveda hopes
to raise $42,000 through donated tips, a percentage of
appointments, “Jeans for Green,” and a fashion show
event on April 29. Sierrans who attended this event in
2007 had an absolute blast!
“One World, One Aveda” Fashion
Night will take place from 6:30-10pm at the Aveda
Institute’s South Campus Gateway location, 1581 North
High St. The Scott J Salon Artistic Team from New York
will work with Aveda Institute students to present a
runway show that will tell the story of Aveda around the
world. The show will feature hair, makeup and fashions
from New York, London, Berlin and Tokyo. General
admission tickets are $35 in advance and $50 at the
door. VIP tickets are $70/$100. Call 614-291-2421
extension 1100 and reserve your ticket!
Aveda Corporation is an
international provider of environmentally friendly
health and beauty products and services. Aveda’s vision
is environmental sustainability. The company has
committed to continuous improvement following the Ceres
Principles, which include protection of the biosphere,
sustainable use of natural resources, reduction of
waste, energy conservation and environmental
restoration.
Aveda relies on plant-based
ingredients rather than synthetics. Where possible, they
use organic crops traced back to traditional communities
around the world. They promote responsible packaging,
safe product manufacturing, and responsible corporate
practices. Wind power offsets are purchased for the
electricity used at the primary manufacturing facility.
The company as a whole raises money for environmental
causes during Earth Month. Aveda’s environmental work
has the benefit of being a great consciousness-raiser
for their customers and students.
The Sierra Club is excited to
continue our partnership with Aveda in 2008 and we
appreciate the strong support for clean water work in
Central Ohio. Aveda partnered with the Ohio Sierra Club
in 2007 and raised more than $30,000, which has helped
us continue to address water pollution from sewer
overflows and runoff. Donations that Aveda raises will
enable the Sierra Club to continue clean water work in
the future.
Consider going to Aveda Institute
to get a shampoo, cut, facial, pedicure, or great body
work! Their two Columbus facilities are at 1581 N. High
St. and 1618 Neil Ave. Learn more at

or by phoning 614-291-2421. Stay tuned for information
about funds raised by the Aveda Institute and future
campaign work.
