AOG Outing: Athens Urban Hike. Meet at Village Bakery. Park on the street. We will follow an urban route that takes us up Cable Lane, across Columbia Avenue and through hidden streets that culminate in a descent to East State Street on a CCC staircase. Learn about the magical passages of Athens. We will finish up with something to drink or lunch at the Village Bakery. Dress warmly; bring water and money for food and drink. Call Loraine to confirm, 740-589-4070.

Nov 17 Monday (pre-order deadline)
The Athens Area Chapter of the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA), provides families with an opportunity to have a Local Thanksgiving.  Orders for a fresh selection of locally produced turkey, ham, veggies, jam and stuffing mix to set your holiday table must be placed by November 17 or until limited number of boxes are sold. Boxes can be picked up on Monday, November 24th from 5-7 pm at the Village Bakery, in Athens.  Each Veggie-Only Box includes Potatoes and Sweet potatoes, Kale or Swiss chard cooking greens, Beets, Leaf lettuce, Onions, garlic & parsley, Carrots and turnips, Stuffing mix, Jam, Butternut squash for pumpkin pie. Each Traditional Box will add choice of free-range turkey or ham to the Veggie-Box.  Prices are Small Veggie $40, Small Traditional $85, Large Veggie $58, Large Traditional $103. Order forms are available at the Village Bakery, at the Farmers Market, and via e-mail by contacting Ed
Perkins at perkaber@juno.com and placing turkey in the subject line.
